Tips That Will Give You Unfair Advantage At The Poker Table
Playing poker and winning is a really tough job to do, you can lose the majority of the times especially if you don't know the little dirty psychology secrets that anybody playing poker for real has to understand.
Do not expect people to play like you.
Even great players have different theories about how to create a fantastic game. Do not count on other great players to do what you'd do in a specific situation. There's more than 1 way to be right.
Look your competitors in the eye.
See who they are and examine their features. Get to know them. This observation will cause you to fear them less.
Try playing silence.
Silent play is a picture play, sure, but here is something else to think about: When you play in silence, you wind up holding more detailed"internal conversations" on your own, which improves your concentration, along with your play.
See things as they are.
Wishful thinking like fearful thinking contributes to bad decisions. Make your decisions based on real information, not on what you expect or fear that your opponents hold. It is bad enough to get bluffed by someone else but even worse to get bluffed by yourself.
Keep it impersonal.
In the poker table it's easy to get sucked into our opponents' personalities. When you are driven by the desire to beat the player in seat four, simply because he happens to be a jerk, you are moving away from your great game and in the dangerous teritory of character poker. To keep it profitable, you must keep it impersonal.
Respond to change.
A poker game isn't static. It is a dynamic, living organism that changes from moment to moment. You need to respond to those changes. Just because a player was bluffing an hour ago does not mean he is bluffing now. Has he lost plenty of money since that time? Has he had a couple of bluffs? Be up-to-the-second on your thinking or be ready to go home broke.
Beware subjective reality.
After the hand you folded an hour past is the hand you lift with now, it is time to get up and go home.
Serve your game, not your self.
Serving your self in a poker game isn't your purpose and it'll harm you. It is only going to cloud your card feel with a great deal of irrelevant issues, and alienate your competitors. Be humble, act humble, and leave your ego at home.
Have a scenario.
When you are in a hand against one or more opponents, put them on something. Make your best guess about their holding in light of the gambling. It seems obvious, I know, but so many people get so caught up in our own hands that we do not stop to consider, actually think about, what our enemies are up to until it is too late. For those who have a situation, you might be wrong but at least you have a opportunity to be right. If you do not consider what they have, then you don't have any chance of being correct.
If you count your cash at the table?
Ideally you have so much money you can not count that high, but try to not do this.
